Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
What can I do to line up my fenders and hood. I thought I was a fairly patient man but I'm about to lose it. I got a repo core support, fenders, and hood, cab and both doors are original. sorry I don't have pics of it (thats another story) but my problem is getting my hood to fender gaps right. one side will be pretty close and the other one pass side will go from to tight at the windshield to a 1 inch gap at the nose.
My doors lined up good with no prob guess thats what I get for buying repo stuff, anyway I'm just about ready to burn it where it sits. Anybody got any helpful hints or tips? thanks.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
You might have to make the holes for the bolts that attach the fender to the core support a bit larger. Make sure you have the core support centered, too.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
Loosen your core support bolts and take a come-a-long and ford the core support over as much as you can to split the difference in the fender gaps. Do not put the hood latch in yet. Leave that for last. Try that and see if it does not help out some.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
I haven't tried that yet 72cstc5 but I was wondering if the core support was what was throwing it out so bad. I'll try it and thanks for the tip.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
Also remember, if you had the cab off it may not be sitting perfectly straight or the way it origiinally was, which will through the fit of the other pieces off. It's a tweaking process, even with the best of OEM or aftermarket parts.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
NEW CAB AND CORE SUPPORT MOUNTS!!! Don't know if you've done this already or not, but mine were SO SHOT that when I put the new ones on the cab was raised almost 1/2". I also used new core support mounts. Before I even installed my repo fenders I enlarged all holes and bolted everything together loosely. I adjusted everything I could and when I got it lines up to where I was happy with it I snugged it up. You may also need to look to see if the fenders or core support are catching anywhere and may need to trim or tap a few things here and there. I wasn't shy with a body hammer and grinder on mine.
Here's the finished product on my truck, repo fenders and doors, stock 67 hood and grill. Hope that helps! Good luck.

Re: Aahhh Repo Parts!!!
Thanks again guys, I don't know why I didn't think about the cab or the bushings throwing it off. I did have the cab off and I replaced all bushings with new ones.
I'll check on these when I get started back on it, i really like the idea of enlarging all the holes a little I can see where that could help greatly.
