Re: So what ya got's done....

Well, I fixed a compter that has been pissing me off for the last 2 months. Looked for some helicoil for the mainfold (long story) with no luck. And sence it has been 110+ here in Northern CA every single dam day I complained about having to use a dam swamp that when it gets to hot just circulates the hot moist air. Then after that I was reminded that I cannot drive my pickup till I get the time to drop tranny for fix flex plate....

Re: So what ya got's done....

Installed new headers and got the front clip back on. Drove it down the driveway and back. I have to say, the Lunati cam and 64cc Double hump 2.02 heads woke this motor up. First time I have driven since I converted it to a short bed. Next step if finishing up the body work on the bed and welding all the trim holes on the fenders and doors.

Re: So what ya got's done....

Moved the girlfriend's giant mountain of crap from Spartanburg, SC to Athens, GA so she's all set when she goes back to grad school. We took my truck with a full bed and cab and her parents explored packed full with a 12' trailer behind that! Holy crap I'm pooped this morning! I swear, all of the times I moved from home to college I never had more than a truck bed full!!!

NEXT WEEKEND.... FINISHING PAINT ON THE 67!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: So what ya got's done....

Got nuthin' done this week. I'm at a standstill until I get my carb back. I could clean the garage but why do today what I can put off until tomorrow. I'll get energized again when my carb is on the bench.

Re: So what ya got's done....

I spent about 2 hours yesterday pretreating, pressure washing and scrubbing the frame I picked up from Djracer on Friday (thx man!). It was rather comical once I turned on the water. The guy I borrowed it from said it "leaks around the handle a little"...I got more water on ME (insert Benny Hill music) than I did on the frame! Its clean now and ready for some paint.

Re: So what ya got's done....

Temporarily installed the tilt column so that I could install the Lokar shift cable. Glad I did, because I scratched the crap out of the bottom of the column and the firewall trying to figure out the best position for the aluminum bracket that clamps around the column. But I finally got it figured out and everything is adjusted perfectly, so now when the truck goes back together all I need to do is mount the aluminum clamp to the column and hook up the cable. That bracket is a tight fit!

Also ran the hood, grill lower radiator splash pan, and the rear bed splash pans to the sandblaster on Saturday morning. I am going to go get those tonight after work.

Re: So what ya got's done....

GOT MY TRUCK BACK ON THE ROAD....first time since.....mmmm....february!

The axle swap from He!! is done, the headers, carb, booster, new MC, cable throttle linkage, and disc brakes are all in, and functioning (might need some timing/carb tuning), but its back on the road......now its time to get an exhaust installed (open headers on an I6 that dump right below the drivers seat are deafening!)

I installed the headliner and new headliner trim on my '70. Small job, but alot more than I have gotten accomplished on it in a while.

Re: So what ya got's done....

I swapped the white wagon wheels on the rear for my new tires and rally wheels that I've been hanging onto for over a year! Pulled it back the garage and started the front end rebuild to add disc brakes...

Mmm.... Nothing. It's sickening. I gotta start savin' up again. I've been on leave from work for 10 days. Ask again when I have some "spend on the truck" money.
