Bed Swap, long step to long fleet

A couple of months ago superchevy, AKA Casey, hooked me up with a sweet deal on a fleetside long bed. After replacing rear shocks, painting the rear of the frame and having the driveshaft rebuilt, 4 of my buddies helped heave the fleetside onto the frame this morning.

Eventually I want to go back to a long step bed, but mine was totally trashed and this is a great temporary bed. I havent decided if I am going to paint it or leave it in the gold and white and primer.

Yes, it is off of a 50th Anniversary. So if anyone wants to chat me up about swapping for a decent long step bed, I will be here.

for some reason it looks extra long on your truck, maybe because it stands out more. i don't like long steps so i say paint it and keep it.

It is a regular longbed. Must be the camera angle.

I do agree that the long steps are the ugly ducklings of 67-72s, but I want to put mine back to a long step since that is what it was when my Grandpa bought it brand new.

Just running around town I saw 3 fleetsides yesterday and no steps and I have only seen 3 or 4 long steps since I got mine.

It takes a "true" truck-lover to like a long Stepside.Where did you get the tire to match to paint on your rim?

Re: Bed Swap, long step to long fleet

That was a full custom paint job, compliments of my pre-teen nieces. They really wanted to do somethign to help with the truck and I did not feel like spending the time to cover the 15 year old dry rotted tires.

The front tires are the rare silver overspray and whitewall combo tires!

Kind of fits the overall theme of the truck, though!
