Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Well with my 71' approaching completion and me as obsessed and sick about these trucks, I'm always looking for that good deal. I just stumbled on this truck and am going to see it on Wed. Here is what the owner sent me:
1967 C-10 Stepside Project. Frame and running gear all assembled Needs minor body work and assembly, all parts there. For Sale or Trade I bought one 67 C-10 to get a step side frame, bed and running gear; and another 67 to get a decent cab, front clip, hood. ($400 for each) Frame and Running Gear Frame, rear end, front crossmember, upper and lower control arms, trans mount, trailing arms, radiator support, and splash pans completely sandblasted, primed and painted with black implement paint. ($250) Complete 1974 crossmember installed with disc brakes, calipers, and power steering box, proportioning valve replacing original. ($250) New upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, and front end bushings. Rotors turned with new disc brake pads, new inner and outer packed wheel bearings. ($200) New front brake caliper hoses. (LMC $40) New tranny mount ($15) and SBC engine towers and mounts ($15) New body, bed, and radiator support mounts. (LMC $159) Front spring trimmed one coil with cutoff wheel (not torch) Three new drive shaft universal joints and pilot bearing ($50) 3.73 : 1 12 bolt rear with new trailing arm bushings. (LMC $30) New 4” dropped rear coil springs ($125) and new rear end u-bolts. (LMC $45) New rear brake shoes, turned drums, rebuilt wheel cylinders ($60) Rear axles re-drilled to 5 on 5” with new axle bearings and lug studs. ($180) Four classic 5 x 5 mag wheels just added (Would need tires) CAB & BED One cab corner and both rocker panels replaced Step side bed and wood slat supports disassembled and sandblasted |

Last ones....what do you think it's worth or a fair price??? He wants $2000.00 for it! I think that an ok price...1200 or 1500 would be better????

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
If all the work that was done is Quality work, Then it would be worth that or more. You know what it costs to do up a truck and that one has had a lot of the stuff done to it already. Just depends on what you want to spend also. But I think it is worth the $2000.

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Any good horse trader will offer half the cash up front and to wave in front of the guy. If he does not bite then go a couple of hundred more and fake that you will walk out on the deal he he will not come down. I would ask him how close to 1000 dollars would he take for the parts TODAY! It almost always works for me if you flash the 1000 cash before you tell him your offer. A lot of times they just go for the flash! Just a little advise for a truck lover. You can pay what you like, why not try to pay less because you know when you put this together it will cost you more that you thought it would! Mike

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
It's 45 min to where it's at and I need cash...if I'm going. It is right around the corner from where my window wedges are being painted. So I was thinking I'd go on Wed. to get the wedges and then drop by to see this 67'!

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Just got back...it really didn't speak to me like I had hoped it would. He's mixed 74' parts (front end) and parts from here there and everywhere into this truck. Drove away thinking, this one wasn't for me. If someone wants his phone # PM me.

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Good Call!!! No running motor or good trans to go with it, makes any truck worth no more then $500 to me. Good luck on a future find!

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Yea...I just couldn't see spending the 2 g's he wanted and when I looked it over...like you said I felt reluctant to even give $500 for it. Now if the short frame would have been stock or converted with 71' or 72' gear I would have tried to but the rolling frame from him. He kept telling me this is from LMC and it cost blahh blahh blahh...as if I don't know what parts cost. LOL!

Re: Look what I found, What do you think it's worth???
Maybe LMC will give him $2K.I just caught the end of this.I`ve seen a couple nice clean painted properly lowered(all ECE)frames with rebuilt f/e,brakes,and steering go for $1,000 & $1,200 this summer. The ECE 4/6 kit runs around $800.That cab had some patching "started",but wouldn`t add much if anything to the price for me if I were buying it.Good move,he needs to come down(alot),find a fool,or part it out..."this cost $48 in the LMC book, this was $35,those were $27 ea...."
