Electrical question
I am having a problem with my turn signals. They were working fine but now they flash about 5 times too fast. I have replaced all the bulbs and that still didn't fix it. But all the other lights work fine, headlights, break lights etc. Any suggestions?

Re: Electrical question
Wouldn't a HD flasher cause it to flash slower? There is something draw too much current and causing the flasher to flash to much. I know some people would put the HD flashers in because when they hooked up a trailer the trailer blinker lights would draw too much current for the smaller flasher and cause them to flash way too fast. The HD flasher would cure this because the bi-metal strip in the flasher was heavier.

Re: Electrical question
you are correct, the HD ones would go agonizingly slow.
Quick troubleshooting tip, swap the two flashers around. You have one for the turn signals, and one for the 4 ways. if you swap and they work properly, replace the flasher. If it still actsd stupid, then something is wrong, and what ever it is, it is placing a huge load on the flasher. It would just about have to be a messed up turn signal switch since it is doing it on both left and right. |
