WTB: Factory 67-72 Truck Tilt
Looking to buy a 67-72 Chevy or GMC truck tilt (not van) for a truck with an automatic transmission. Please let me know if you can help me out, and how much your are asking.
thanks |

There was one here in the local paper (Phoenix, AZ) last weekend. He wanted $240. Too pricey for me.

If it's not refurbished, that is too pricey. I'm assuming it isn't. Nice ones seem to go for $300 on average. |

Good solid originals, not restored, go for $250-300 around here. Fresh built ones with lots of new parts run about $500.

You`ll be looking for a 69/72 column.I`ve had alot of guys swear van columns were truck. So,it helps to sound like you know your stuff around these columns. Not that there`s any crooks thay survive here, you may be looking elsewhere. The guys I`m talking about are swap-meet terds that want to duck`n`run.

Re: WTB: Factory 67-72 Truck Tilt
They come up on the parts board with regular frequency.
Check the parts section everyday and you'll soon score one. Most everybody knows what they are and what their worth, if you find a decent one for 250/300, IMO buy it. Last one I got was in a parts truck I paid $200.00 for but had to drive 3hrs each way to get it. |

Re: WTB: Factory 67-72 Truck Tilt
Heh heh, once I discovered the tilts came in trucks I wanted one bad.I saw a`71 longbed for sale for $600,pretty solid.I believe it was in the mid-80s.I bought the truck, swapped columns and sold the truck to this guy for $800 because he really liked the paint. It was Hugger Orange w/black stripe down the side that got wider in the rear, then turned up to the top of the bed.I swear I`ve seen others with the same sceme.

Re: WTB: Factory 67-72 Truck Tilt
Here you go. I pulled this from a 72 Highlander I got in last week. Column is tight and signal switch works fine. Complete, uncut wiring harness. Levers had a small amount of surface rust in a few spots which came off fine with a Brillo pad. Could use repaint for show quality or looks fine now for driver. $320 (including shipping). Pics aren't great (batt nearly dead) - let me know if you need more.
