fuel selector valve
When i was dropping the driver side tank and replacing it's lines, i noticed my tank selector valve doesn't look like one posted in another topic. The sending unit wires (or at least driver side for sure) goes to the front of the cab, and the valve appears to be a 6 port valve (truck is non smog). On the driver side, the sending wire is day blue and it goes through the frame rail and forward in the direction of the cab, not along the frame rail to the valve. Didn't have enough time to look at the wire for pass side, one of the pictures make it look like it goes across the cross-member, presumably to join the other wire in the large string of wires going to the cab. The yellowish wire is the only one actually going into the valve. Am i just looking at it wrong?

Re: fuel selector valve
Yeah I think you are. The wire to the valve is the power wire. It's the one that tells the valve to open or close depending on what side you want to draw from. It may have been added later on as a dealership item. The valve is a 6 port for the return line from the fuel pump. Is yours not working either?

Re: fuel selector valve
it works far as I know, for now. But as with everything else on my truck, dont expect too much more life out of it.

Re: fuel selector valve
Magnethead, have you removed the lines and watched the switch valve from the inside? Mine would work sometimes, but not consistently. It wouldn't always move enough, which could result in it sucking and returning gas to/from both tanks.
