Need Tilt disassembly help...

Been trying to pull the two pins out of the sides of the column. The one you screw the 8/32 screws into? I got one to pull out like that, but the other will not budge. I've broken about 30 of the screws trying to pull it. Tried screwing it, slide hammer, you name it. Anyone got a better idea? This is a van tilt that I am converting to floor shift by the way. Thanks, Jeff.

Probably just stuck in there, sounds like the same setup as in my beretta, when I took that apart the one pin was kind of stuck, I just jerked it around and pulled and it came. Move the tilt up and down and pull.

You will need a pin puller. They work pretty good on tight pins. Most tool brands have one.

Re: Need Tilt disassembly help...

Thanks guys! I'm ordering one now. Hopefully I'll get it soon and get the column pulled apart finally. Jeff.

Re: Need Tilt disassembly help...

I've been looking over this one again, I know I need a pin puller tool to redo my tilt, but do I need the lock plate tool also to get my tilt apart? This is my first time at rebuilding one of these guys. Thanks

Bill unless you have a newer locking column you wont need the lock plate tool.

Re: Need Tilt disassembly help...

Thank you, that is what I thought, but I am just the shade tree mechanic without a shade tree. No it is just a standard 72 truck tilt.
