Tips for installing hood anit-rattle foam.

I am going to install that repop hood anti-rattle foam on my 72. Anyone have any tips? I was thinking about using some 3M weatherstrip/emblem adhesive, on it to hold it in place.

I used 3M black super weatherstrip adhesive along the edges after slipping it into place.

Where is the best place to put them?

Re: Tips for installing hood anit-rattle foam.

I was thinking the other day about using some expanding spray foam and fill up the whole length of the channel. My hood is doing the wobble thing on the freeway. It'll help keep out the wasp nests also when the truck sits for a couple of weeks at a time. Any thoughts on that?

Ya, the foam would probably work. Then after the foam sets up and expands, just spray bomb it black, and you'll probably never notice it.

I figured the same--after it sets up I could cut the x-tra off and clean up the edges then paint.

Re: Tips for installing hood anit-rattle foam.

Be sure to use LOW expansion foam. Some of that stuff could warp your hood if sprayed into the channels.
