Aftermarket A/C condensor placement? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I know this is a ways off but I plan on installing either a vintage or old air kit on my truck next year...the reason for posting now is in about 2 weeks I hope to install my new external tranny cooler. It is the one pictured below and I am going to mount it vertical behind the grill. I don't want to mount it, get the lines bent and have to move it when I install an A/C kit next year, so pics of where y'all put your aftermarket condesors would be great! Do the go the whole way across the radiator opening...etc... I just don't want to have to move the tranny cooler again. Y'all are such a great help, thanks!

You should be safe if you mount it on the drivers side of the rad support next to opening. The condenser and dryer and lines pretty much take the room on pass side. Unless it is fairly short and can mount in front of center of batt area. This pic shows the dryer and lines.

+1 on the drivers side install of your cooler. If you just have to have it on the passenger side I would run the lines out a new hole below the factory hole in the core support (below the battery box). As long as you mount your cooler to the left of that hole(passenger side) you shouldn't be in the way of the A/C lines. Here's a shot I had on file of the drivers side.

LUV, is that an aftermarket or factory condensor? I'm curious as to how far the aftermarket one comes over. It looks like I need to mount it to the right of the "vertical bump out" in the grill (see arrow) and I should be ok. BUT will it get enough air flow being behind the turnsignal and not directly in front of the radiator??? Don't want to roast another 700R4

I will be running the tank integrally with the radiator. After a lot of reading I've decided this will be the best/safest way to go, It will be running through 2 coolers, can't go wrong there!

I stuck an Aluminium Parralell flow condensor in the stock position.
I just had to fab up 4 small brackets.

Sweet, thanks, I'll just assume the whole area in front of the radiator is going to be taken up.
