i have had my 350 engine in my 69 o maybe 2 1/2 years or 5000 miles tops...
I went to murrys auto to buy plugs,, Handed the boy a r45ts A/C plug and said i want 8 of these..He said this plug..yea...He goes and does his thing, and say's i can take you on # 3 .... great i am thinking..he rings me up and said thats 2.19 cents

cool out the door i go..

So i got a GREAT DEAL ON A/C PLUGS... I was very surprised at how nasty my my plugs were..
I have went thru 3 carbs and two intakes in that time..
I do have the 50,000 volt hei..?
O yea and one hei module..

guess it's taken it's toll on the old plugs.

you can see the base is not even rusted..

I did get them all installed without breaking any plugs

I will drive it tommarrow and see if theres any difference.

Looks like quite a bit of deposits on those. Something/oil may be getting past the rings or seals. They are not burning away.

I used anti-foulers on two plugs when I got to Santa Fe in my`71 camper.It had two fouled and I knew I was in higher elevation.I had tuned the truck before leaving and set timing/tach/dwell to specs.We drove north to the NM/CO border and it was running rough again.I pulled the plugs and the two w/anti-foulers were melted away/no tip!I`m 2,500 miles from home in the south Rockies with motor problems.I chucked the anti-foulers,put two plugs in,ear-tuned the truck,and finished the trip.Even dropping down into Texas and all the way back east the truck ran fine.I never needed to reset a thing.
Wierd things can happen

Those old plugs are the result of your other carb problems.Fixing them doesn`t always mean,"it`ll burn off".

Oil fouling creates hard black deposits. The carburetor that’s too lean will create white deposits and/or deterioration of the insulator and poor driveability. It doesn’t matter if you have a hot HEI ignition or a stock ignition, it won’t have any effect on deterioration of the electrodes. I’m betting what you have is moisture that’s causing these deposits.

well todays drive to and from work, was filled with extra power.
after the plug change i am betting to fuel mileage will go up a tad..
momma already say's my 69 get's better mileage than the 4.3 s-10
4x4 she drives...seems like theres always something to do on these babys when you drive them every day.

That seems pretty cheap for 8 plugs? I don't remember what I paid last time, but it seems like they run between 1 or 2 bucks per plug.

Sounds like you got your money out of the last set.

$2.19??? You got a 1969 price on those AC spark plugs! Must have been a new kid at the counter and surely his cash drawer came up short that day!
