tach dash
anyone see anything different about this tach?
third pic is the future driver of "his" pickup as he will promply tell you last pic is my new ride. will be a shorty at some point. gathering all the parts and nos items i can. gonna enjoy it now and restore when my son get's closer to driving age and helping age. got rallies on it already, but found a deal on some 17's, so they will probably come off and be for sale soon. 15x8's with new tires.

Re: tach dash
The tach it's self looks fine. It's the numbers that are WAY off.
The tach should only go to 5000 RPM. So where yours says 7 grand, it should read 5 grand. |

Re: tach dash
ok, i'll give. instead of the camaro 7 grand tach that looks out of place, this is a recalibrated tach and special made lens to go to 7 grand and look factory. a good small block will rev past 5 grand so i wanted more, but with a factory look. you like?

We like! That is more like it. Mass produce those and they will be guaranteed good sellers.

Re: tach dash
i got it from cheyenne super-man. i've been buying from him for about 16 years now and he made a few of these up and let me buy one. he is trying to get it produced in mass, but i think he can make them up one at a time if someone wants one. it is the coolest thing i've seen in a long time.

Re: tach dash
Really looks at home there! But I can't complain about my Camaro Tach I picked up for gratis. A lot of guys on here pick it right out but most people think its factory. Just out of curiosity what does that run $wise? I would assume compareable to a regular tach conversion kit.

Re: tach dash
he gets a $100 more than for the conversion. i guess if you already had a tach in there he could set you up with the tach and lens, i don't know. did'nt mean to offend on the camaro tach, i've had a couple myself and liked, i just thought these were cool.

Re: tach dash
How can I get one of these conversions. I currently have a tach guage cluster and would love to convert it to the 7000 tach.

2nd gen camaro.
You really want to trust your mega dollar big block to a 30 year old stock (inacurate when new) tach? |

Re: tach dash
I didn't know anyone was actually using them as shift indicators. They aren't exactly in your line of vision down there above the column. I think they are like a lot of gauges in that they are a point of reference. Both of my trucks check the same with an infared thermometer but the gauges come nowhere close to reading the same.
