hey guys,
i just picked up a beautiful 1969 gmc lwb and i love everything about it including the lack of rust everywhere but i hate hate hate the nose. it's out right ugly. anyway i was wondering what others have done to modify there gmc to give it a nose job. i'm not afraid of power tools or making something custom so from mild to wild let me see it. thanks guys. ondrew p.s. i'll probably have pics tommarow. |

Re: gmc grill alternatives?
wow, never heard anyone THAT against the beauty of a GMC.
You could install a 67/68 grill... may need the rad core support, will certianlly need the hood. Or, you could go with any other booring chevy grill, but you'll need the entire front clip. |

You can't bolt a Chevy grille on/in to a GMC nose? Huh, I thought they were all the same. Learn something new everyday I suppose.

Re: gmc grill alternatives?
GMC kept using the fenders from 68, which, chevy went to a new fender in 69, so becouse of that, no, you can't use a chevy grill, except a 67 or 68.

I say get a different clip, don't hack it up if it is in good shape.

Styling concepts make a phantom grill for that truck. I found a pic somewhere of it done. It looked nice but it all depends on what you like. Good luck

Re: gmc grill alternatives?
Thanks for the info guys. I’ll make sure I post when I finally figure out what I’m doing with it.
As for why a GMC over a Chevy well, the price was right, there was no rust, it was only 1 mile from my house, I need a truck to drive now and I wanted it to be the 67-72 body style. Thanks guys, Ondrew p.s. pics later tonight. Last edited by roj2323; 08-14-2006 at 08:48 PM. |

Re: gmc grill alternatives?
you could always mount a stubeabaker bullit in the center of the grill like the 50's starlite coupes used to have
