What did you get done?

This was my first weekend off in quit some time. Saturday morning I went to watch my daughters High School team play volleyball. This was their first scrimmage so nothing tooo exciting to report since no scores were kept.

Saturday afternoon I cleaned up my 77 and took my family out to dinner. We meet some friends for a birthday party and later I dropped by the local cruise spot.

Today I took my family to a church we had never been to before. Later I worked on centering the steering wheel on my 77 which was successful. I also tried to figure out why the digital gauges for my air ride keeps fading out. No luck there...

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done?

i put some new wheel bearings on the daily driver and got it back rolling again. now my truck can be taken apart to receive the new motor and tranny i have yet to buy. i am thinking of a step 3 bowtie overdrive 700r4 to replace my stock 1984 700r4 that has proven itself to be quite weak. other than that, my engine choice is pretty much in the air. i just need to find something that pill pass smog later down the road...

Re: What did you get done?

I finally found a few hours to start cleaning up the garage after the move. It may not look like much but I'm starting to see the floor and I can park my daily driver inside

Re: What did you get done?

I drove a few miles to a wedding, spent some time with the "future in-laws" and spent some time with friends drinking beer and smoking briskets at the house. Sorry LOHRTBT (Dave) you weren't around other wise I'd have invited you LOL! (inside joke)

Truck wise I changed the oil on the truck on bought new timing chain and the install kit for the blazer. Tomorrow I'll get out there early and get the timing chain/gears replaced and also replace thre rear brake rubber line. It had a break in it without me knowing while I drove it last. After that it should be street ready minus the inspection but we'll see.

Re: What did you get done?

Tried to relax a bit... did changed the oil in the 87 GMC and showed the wife how to change the oil in her blazer. Kiddo wanted to help to.. she is really into working on cars/trucks and loves to get dirty. In about 6-7yrs I am going to have to buy a project truck for her, so we can work on it together... unfortunately I can see it now... its gonna be PINK!

That's pretty dang cool right there! I would take my GF out for a special dinner (using the $$ saved on the oil change of course ) just for jumping in & gettin' dirty. Hopefully you did the same.....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I am paying for the blazer... is that not enough? All kidding aside I like the fact she wants to learn about cars/trucks.. ready for the kiddo to grow up so I can teach her some more..

Re: What did you get done?

I helped my dad move again on Saturday. Cleaned out my Cavalier and put a new valve cover gasket on it. Sunday I kinda cleaned up the garage and helped a buddy work on his pickup. Hopefully the new hood and bumper and headlights I got ebay for my Cavy will be here by next weekend.
