Vent Window Handle...

My problem? Mine simply fell off and apart in my hand the other day and I believe a spring flew to the ground and disappeared for good, now, is there a way to change these handles because I have several more but can't figure out how to remove them or am I changeing the window which I also have several of. Thanks for the help in advance,
Matt

Re: Vent Window Handle...

look on the side of the handle. you should see a very small hole where a roll pin hold it on. use a small round punch and drive it out. pretty simple. i did mone a few weeks ago and it took no longer than 1/2 hour.

see ya

Re: Vent Window Handle...

I think the new ones I bought from Chevy Duty (or what ever they are called now) were only like $14 each. That was two years ago and they are still shiny and tight now.
If its a nice truck you just might want to buy some new ones? Or you might want to just put somethng on there that works. The ones that got replaced went on to my Blazer because it didn't have any at all.

Re: Vent Window Handle...

Only thing to watch on the LMC handles is the little roll pin doesn't fit quiiiite right on mine... its like its a little too small and needs to be spread... I gotta tap mine back in every so often if I use the handles alot...

...also, i would go with the non-locking ones next time, simply b/c of the simpler nature of the non locking units.

Re: Vent Window Handle...

Thanks guys, she's not mint but she's getting nicer, finished $300 worth of welding on it today (was gonna be $1000 job but luckily my dad's friend cut me quite a deal so all behind my rockers, the floor, is nearly all new of 1/16 steel plate, new cab mount, cab is reinforced on the beams with 1/16 diamond plate, where the tailgate goes to the box posts is redone as is under the taillights with 1/4 inch thick pieces of pipe that blend right in, rear fenders at the very bottoms the supports are redone, both rockers are new now, and she's going for paint monday). Annnnyways lol I got some non-locking and locking style handles kicking around both with pretty good shine I'm gonna go give her a shot in a couple minutes here and see how it goes getting one to put on off another window (truck's still at my work with the gas tank out, putting new straps on in the morning) thanks for all the help and suggestions!
