I jsut moved to San Diego, I was wondering what you can get away with out here, I have a stock 350 right now. Anything will help.

What ever you change I would hold on to the old stuff. Theres a new bill going through now that COULD have us checking again. Not sure how far back it will go

that would be ridiculous, that would require 1000s of people to go back and purchase equipment they had done away with just to pass smog.

Its been all over the local paper as of late I look and see if ZI can find it. I agree that it would be ridiculous but I also would not put it past them Just my 2cents

we got new software for our smog machine where i work and it has 66 and newer already installed. i doubt the state would have spent the money for 66-73 unless there is something up their sleeve. it wouldn't be the first time the government screwed the public. my old 67-72 smog pump brackets might be worth a small fortune pretty soon, luckily none of my trucks came with a pump. all 3 have TAC and PVC and one has a canister.

Actually, it is (and has been for many decades) illegal to disable factory installed emissions controls, regardless of any inspection. All that matters is whether or not the manufacturer was required to put them in. This condition is met in almost all cases.

So if you yanked your TCS and your heat stove and your air injection system and so forth, you have committed a misdemeanor and are subject to a $2500 fine. If you're a shop, it's $25K. These are EPA regs, not state.

If I were you, I wouldn't yell too loudly.
