'67 Inside Door Handles

What makes the '67 inside door handle remote controls so special? Can a '68-'71 be made to work? I know the shaft is longer on the '72.

Re: '67 Inside Door Handles

the shape of them is a little different. More like a 66 style. Most of the 67's I buy may have one original and one 68 up but rarely are both still there.

Re: '67 Inside Door Handles

Bob - The 67 remote has a shorter nub (out board of the clip) than the 68-71remotes.

Hope this helps - Bob

Re: '67 Inside Door Handles

Thanks. That's what I thought. Since '67 inside door handles are different from '68-'71 as well, you ought to be able to use both the '68 style handle and remote together, right?

Re: '67 Inside Door Handles

Right. You could use 67 handles if you shortened the nub.

Don't know if you have 67 window handles to match or even if you have the 67 door handles?

Good luck. Keep it looking "67" original if you can - Bob

Re: '67 Inside Door Handles

davidh called it: I have a '68 remote on the left side with some aftermarket handle, and a '67 remote and handle on the right!
