has any one ever seen a 90 over sbc piston?
who makes these things? i saw seven of them this weekend . and i thought 60 to 80 over was pushin it on a small block?

I've seen an 80 overr 350 running on the street with no problems...but never heard of more.

this 90 over had no problems at all the guy said he hauled over 7000 pounds from san diego to idaho no problems ther valves got all gummed up , ended up sticking and that was the end of that piston i guess that s why i saw 7 of them and not 8

call up a manufacturer like aires they'll make up any type you could imagine i had an edsel engine once and jahns made me a set of 125over pistons

Usually only .060 over is recommended but that is due to casting shift.The mold used to cast the block shifts some when it is poured.The cylinder walls may be thinner on one side and not have enough material to bore more.The block can be sonic checked for cyl wall thickness.Some of the aftermarket blocks come with thicker cyl walls and can be bored much more.Another consideration is that the cyl wall needs to be thicker on the wall in direction of crank rotation.

I pulled a set of .090 over 350 pistons from an old chevy school bus a few years back. I've still got one, if ya need it!!

Back in the good ol days you could buy 125's for almost any engine. They were rebuilt with more tlc back then.
My 350 had 80 overs installed by a p.o. You can almost buy another block for the cost of the pistons.
