i am thinking of starting a parts bussiness for chevy trucks , i know some of the parts manufacturers , like tri plus do you guys know any more? who repops the dash parts ? other sheet metal producers? any help would be great thanks .....tom

Alot of parts from Counterpart I think. That seems like a tough business to get into to me. The cheapest prices I have seen are from www.truckandcarshop.com in California. Your customer service is key to competing with somebody that's huge like that. Good luck with your business!.

A friend of mine just got a license here in Oregon for $50 so we could get project parts cheap. He gets Goodmark stuff, Sport Truck USA, and he also got with somebody who he gets POR15 and some other chemicals at cost.

He has a bunch of others, he just called the company, gave him his number and can place orders. The ones he went with had no minimum orders so it wasn't an issue. Between my truck, his truck, and his Camaro, the money saved made it all worth while.

Counterpart is the main one for just about everything, they own the truck shop and they will be hard to beat price wisebut they are lacking in customer service( people that answer the phone is usually young girls) not that a womans voice isn't pleasant to talk to, but it would be much better if they knew what they were talking about.

I wish that they sent good instructions with some parts, that would lead me to a new supplier. i currently have an 8lb box of nuts and bolts for the wood bed project....?!?

counterpart requires 10,000 a year and a retail location to become a dealer.

I was affraid of that, it's a hard buisness to get into, but if it's what
you really want then don't give up on it, I had a chance to do it four
years ago, guy was sick and selling out, I was just gonna walk in and
take over for him, he had already set it up, but the wife disagreed

I figure I can start out small and work my way up. There are several places that have no or little buy-in/yearly requirements.
