This is listed in an ad for an upcoming auction.

I've never heard of a 4x4 Dually or a 1 ton 4x4 for 67-72.

Guess I'll just have to go and check it out. It's either a misprint or conversion job.

definately want to check that out. i think they made one ton 4wds, but not the dually? i could be wrong. is the auction in st paul? if i were you i would atleast go look!

67 - 72...no one ton 4X4's made at all.

no 1 ton 4x4 in 67-72, and no dually 4x4, but thats from the factory.. could always be built by somebody if they wanted it

Did you ever find out about this truck?

You could order a 1 ton 4x4 dually from any chevrolet dealer, they would send a 2 wheel drive dually cab and chassis to napco and they did the front end conversion and shipped the truck back to your dealer.

C-40 to C-60 series trucks could also be ordered with a 4x4 conversion from Howe-Coleman, they came equiped with a special full floating front differential that used the same axle shafts as the rear, they could be swapped front to back or right to left.

How did it turn with the 3 1/2 foot pole going through the center of the hub?

Dont know how they worked, especially with a centered center section, instead of being offset like all other 4x4 front axles, I'd sure like to see one in person.

A friend of mine has a 1972 1ton dually 4x4. It was one of those napco conversions and has the strange looking front axle. It was a city truck all of its life as a tree spade truck. It is supposed to only have 9 thousand miles on it but was used and abused. If I ever get over there I will get some pics for you guys. I havent seen it for a few years. And no he wont sell it, I have tried. He bought it from the city for $3500.00 about 5 years ago.
