Are all the Stock GM throttle cables the same length for these year trucks(BB vs SB)? I put a 4brl on my inline and wanted to stay with a stock looking cable as I am attempting to make the whole works look like it "COULD" have been from the period when it was new..............The stock length cable works, but another 1" in length wouldn't hurt. Do I have to resort to the aftermarket for some chrome piece?

Did GM use the same style cable in later years that might be longer?

Sorry I can't help, because I'm at a point where I need to get a cable for my setup and wondering what to get. I hope someone will be able to help out there!

I don`t know for sure about stock cables.But,I bet you could have one custom-made to appear "as original".

This isn't a project from trucks with an unlimited budget

Hmmmm, anyone with any concrete info on the ones in the cars? Granted mine will work for awhile, but I want to have something to replace it with when or before it fails

I'm resurrecting this thread since I'm now seriously looking for a cable approximately 24" long or less, preferably with the ball-stud mount, fits the 71-72 style pedal and is cheap.

You may want to see if you have a 2wd or 4x4, v-8 cable. I know they are different lengths. Not sure on the 6 cyl however...

You might look at a cable from a 73+ 6 cylinder PU.

I used two pieces of flat aluminum stock cut to the length I needed to go from the pedal lever to the carberator linkage held in place with some pins and retainers all from tractor supply.

he can't do that on his, he has a cable set up.

In 71 they went to a cable set up becouse of throttles getting locked open when the drivers side motor mount would seperate.

The original is working for the moment, but I bet it goes with it gets cold. I may go with an aftermarket........Paint it black, because you can't hardly see it with the air cleaner setup I made.

cables are diff lengths for 6cyl, 2bbl. and 4bbl. The 4bbl cable was exactly the correct length for my rod to cable conversion

This may have been aske before, but is it cheaper/easier to use a stock pedal and cable to convert my '69, or is there an aftermarket setup to do it? I hate the stupid bar thing.

Is all I need the pedal lever (mounts to firewall) and cable?

Jimmy, not sure what you're asking for with the first question, but as to your second, I just did this recently and followed the write up and it's a piece o' cake! Just gotta drill a few holes and some grinding and bolt it right up. Btw, I have the bracket/pedal from a mid 70's C-10 if you're interested. I realized that it's virtually the same just more to the bracket. Seems like it would work well though.
