Inline 6 or V8 GAS IN CAB
I have a 65 truck with 4 on the floor. What is the best route to take for a V8 motor or should I stay with the inline 6. What kind of gas tank do I look for in junk yard to move gas tank from cab to under bed?
Thanks |

A V-8 drops in easy enough and will bring a smile to your face quicker than the straight 6...
If you were to look in a junk yard for a tank, find an early 70s Blazer. It's much easier however to buy a new one with install kit from one of the vendors. I finally finished up the install on mine by welding in a gas door (from a junk yard suburban) I used the filler tube from the Sub too and it matched up real well.

Re: Inline 6 or V8 GAS IN CAB
It's really up to you as to whether you want to get a V8 or stay with the inline 6 but here are a couple of inlines that you can have built by a company called Sissells Automotive. The blue one is a street inline that makes 300 hp/300 lbs. torque. The red one is a racing inline six, not sure about the power output on it though. Their website is www.sissellsautomtive.com
