Plastic Red Ford Spicer Lockouts available?

I found out my 71 K20 has the plastic broken where the pin slides through it on the inside. I called the dealer for a parts search and he said none where in stock on anybody's shelves in the entire USA. Bummer

I've read on the board here that the red Ford one's where still available? Does anyone know of this or the part number for it?

I was planning on taking the truck on a vacation road trip soon, off-road included.

Any pointers or should I try fixing what I have??

Thanks,
-Roger

Re: Plastic Red Ford Spicer Lockouts available?

I believe the Dana part number for the knob is 36050-3. If you are lucky a few of the older Dana dealers might still have some blue or yellow ones on the shelf. Otherwise you can still get the red ones that say Ford on them but you can peel that off. I was lucky and did get quite a few of the blue and yellow ones a few years ago. Since Dana is in bankrupcty I doubt they will be making any new ones soon.

I wish I could get the same parts for my 87 1 ton hubs. I tried the same way to get them but when I said Dana/Spicer they all laughed.
