Where did you get your 67-72 parts?
I'm looking into purchasing some items, and I was wondering if those who have made the same purchases could share their opinions. Who did you buy from and what do you think of the quality? If there are enough responses, I could compile them into a parts guide or something.
1) Body moulding trim 2) Tach/vacuum conversion kit 3) Carpet 4) Headliner/conversion kit 5) Seat covers or just upholstery 6) Weather stripping 7) Door panels 8) Seat foam 9) Body repair panels 10) Emblems 11) Tilt wheel That's all I can think of now. Thanks for your input! -Jamie |

Re: Where did you get your 67-72 parts?
I use the Truck Shop mainly because of good prices and they are close to me so I dont have to pay shipping. I have always been happy with the parts, but the people working there are clueless.

Look at the top of any Index page at the announcements and there is a list of vendors (Support those who Support us) that support the board.

Re: Where did you get your 67-72 parts?
Please don't take this the wrong way, it's just a question. I've purchased from a majority of the vendors and don't have anything bad to say about any of them. My question is - I've asked each vendor that I've ordered from if there's a discount for board members even a break in shipping etc. So far I've yet to run across one vendor that offers anything special to board members so what's the incentive for using board vendor's? I'm guessing your answer will be because they pay a fee to the board for having their link listed on the board.

Re: Where did you get your 67-72 parts?
I ordered my suspension from them over the phone. I started telling her what i needed and she stopped me and said she needed part #s from their online catalog...little lacking on service but the price was fair and i got exactly what i needed.

The board vendors pay what the subscriptions do not pay to keep this place here. Without them this place would not exist for us, that is why we try to keep them busy and prefer them over the competition.

All of the site vendors try to do a great job. May it be in customer service, great prices, or most importantly, excellent products. We all strive to have the best overall experience possible. You do not have to purchase from vendors, but we will certainly give you the best possible exprience that we can.

Re: Where did you get your 67-72 parts?
A little off-topic, but does anyone sell upper trim molding for Burbs? Does anyone know if the Burb rear liftgate came with chrome trim on deluxe models? I seem to be able to find all the pickup trim one could want but Burb trim seems a bit harder to come by. Also, were Suburbans actually badged as "Suburbans?" I haven't seen any evidence that they were.
Hmmm... looks like I hijacked my own thread! BTW, I placed orders with the Truck Shop and GMC Paul's at the same time, and while I've already got a shipping notice from Paul's, the Truck Shop hasn't even contacted me about shipping costs... |
