Busted Knuckles & Subborn Bolts.
Is what we go through on these 40+ year old Trucks. I had two stubborn bolts and two busted knuckles today getting an inner fender at the yard. I did get it but paid the price all of us have. I now have a non rusted inner fender to make pretty. Some know of my plans and some of you will see my plans unfold right here on Chevy Talk.. Oh by the way.. Inner fenders at Pick and Pull are $12.99.. I didn't even go to the yard expecting to find one and even then there were two of them..

it's my stress release tragically. Do it every time I work on the truck or car and somehow I keep coming back and breakin more knuckles every time.

There are dozens of sprays to loosen rusted bolts but try lighter fluid. Pour on the lighter fluid and let it sit for a couple of minutes, then loosen bolt.
PS: DON"T LIGHT IT !!! |

Heated Kroil is the best I've found, and my knuckles look like old tree knots from the years.

Re: Busted Knuckles & Subborn Bolts.
I used to work for this firey red headed Scottish electrical contractor out of Big Bear who used to yell this at us all day:
"Step it ope lads - straaigh' a-wee!! If yer no beedin' yer no war-r-r-ken!!" roughly translated that means: "Gentlemen, could you please hurry it up a little? If I can't see blood oozing from some occupationaly induced injury - at the very least your knuckles, I must conclude that you're not working hard enough for me, which I might add is an impossiblity. Further more, I could get stuck having to pay you what I actually budgeted for your labor on this job." Apparently, according to Duncan, amongst the trades in Scotland, your wage is injuriously proportional. Master craftsmen are not hired not from a resume or a photo album of projects the've completed, rather they're interviewed at a local pub and asked to show a resume of scars & missing digits. The whole crew busted up one day when I asked him if he came to America just to save his limbs? and he told me: "No! to torture you soft bastards!!" True story!! ...he docked me an hour that day for mouthing off.

Re: Busted Knuckles & Subborn Bolts.
I've restored old Jeeps up until I bought my 66 and I think that the Jeeps are much worse for rusted bolts than this Chevy Pickup. The best thing I have found is a spray called PB Blaster and I get it at NAPA. Works great but really stinks the garage up.
