Question what gears were standard in 71'?

What were the standard gears in a 71' with a 12 bolt rear?. They feel like 3:07. Also I tried to rotate the wheel and count the rev's on the driveshaft but only turned 1.5 times.

Should be 3.73 Should be an option listed in the glove box if it is other than 3.73

3.07 for trucks with 350s. 3.73 for 6 cylinders and 307s.

The automatic transmission equipped V8 trucks had 3:07 gears in them as standard equipment.

Pop the cover off and count the teeth.
How long has that oil been in there? 10...20...maybe 30 years?

With an open rear with one wheel jackedup you have to multiply by 2.
1.5 x2 =3.00
real close to a 3.07
