Finally painting the '68 cab.
What color interior would you go with on a White truck? it's a '68 2WD SWB.
Just wondering what your peoples thoughts are...

Blue would look pretty neat.

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
I would paint the inside of the cab the same as the outside myself. I know in 67/68 they didn't do all of them that way, but that ALWAYS made me think of a quicky cheapie paint job.

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
Let's see....what goes with White. EVERYTHING!
Not trying to be a smart@ss or anything, but you could just about use any color of your liking. I do agree with Longhorn....paint all the metal the same color (exterior to interior). There's was a really nice 67/68 in one of the truck mags a few years back that had a beautiful Burgandy exterior and for some reason the guy decided to do all the jambs and interior in White.....saw the truck up at Reno this year at Hot Aug Nights and didn't care much for that personal touch.

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
Ooooh,...
That maroon does look nice... and I do have a perfect maroon bench seat. But all my other interior parts are Black... also... the interior metal is going to be white... I do like the thought of just redoing my maroon bench into a black hounds-tooth... hehehe, even though 67/68 never had hounds-tooth.. I like that look...

I agree, any color goes with a white exterior
Do you have a favorite? What does the rest of your interior look like? |

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
I like blue (mine) and also agree that it will look unified to work with white metal, and any other color extras.
I've been partial to camel or sandlewood colored leather.

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
My 67 was originally all white on the outside with a blue interior (medium blue paint with med. blue panels, visors, etc...) I liked it. The whole truck will be medium blue once again....
SO my vote is for blue!

Re: Finally painting the '68 cab.
I agree... Everything goes with white. I'm just starting a conversation of what people like. Although posted pic's might change my direction, who knows..
I currently have these usable pieces available; black (metal) door panels, black armrests, perfect maroon cloth bench seat, off-white (I think they are good) or black sunvisors. Currently I have no dash pad, no carpet, nor seatbelts. so, I could really go in any direction. I do have a recoverable dashpad. all the oem vinyl came off, so I could recover it in whatever I re-do the bench seat in, ie... leather, tweed, etc... That is if I don't go with a maroon interior. But, I was just seeing what the "general public" liked... This is one of those trucks that will be "For Sale" in the future. So, I'm trying to make it appealing to any propective buyers walking by it when it's parked in any parking lot. Just wondering everyone's thoughts.

Not the best picture but it will give you an idea of mine. I am in the process of painting the steering column and heater box at this time. lockDoc
