What to do with the heater core?

I am trying to figure out what to do with the heater core on the firewall. I believe that is what you call it. I plan on doing a LSx conversion and want heat and A/C but wanted to keep the firewall clean. Does anyone know of an aftermarket heater core that is small enough i could put it underneath the dash or anything else that might work? Pictures would be the best along with some info but i will take what i can get. Thanks Josh

Re: What to do with the heater core?

If you are looking for a "junkyard" option, you may consider retrofitting the heater core and blower motor from a late 1980's model Chevy S10 or GMC S15.

I've had my LS1 bolted up for a while now (but not wired or plumbed for fuel/cooling) and just deleted my entire heat/AC assembly. I think I'm going to to do Vintage Air eventually and reuse my compressor. Not sure yet. My main snag has been with figuring out the stupid hydraulic clutch right now and bolting up the tank, which has left me completely disinterested in the project.

Re: What to do with the heater core?

I used a forklift heater it was small enough to fit behind the glovebox door.I used copper tubing to run the lines out the vent. The hoses will run inside the fender and come out on the front part of the fender.I dont have much glove box left but I can live with that,
