Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I have about 2,000.00 in my short block until it was all said and done.
With the edelbrock heads, my 350 cost me about 3,000.00. And even then, all I had was a long block. |

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
That's a great price. Not sure how easy it would be to deal with someone in AZ, but you may not have any issues if it's built right.

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I am not impressed. I would find a reputible builder for a little more money or buy a crate motor.

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I didn't use those guys but I did buy my crate engine on ebay from another place in AZ and I regret it. The guys that built it put everything together hand tight so it leaked everywhere and made some strange sounds. I called the builders and they gave me a bunch of bull about warranty not covering leaks and this and that. I live in cali so shipping would kill me but if I was in AZ I would have taken the engine right back to them. If I was doing it again I would buy from a local place. Just my $.02. By the way the builder was a place called Hammy's Hot Rod Engines so stay away.
It sure looked pretty though. |

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I would agree thats it seems a very good price, but I would rather buy a core and build it.Much cheeper and you get that warm feeling when you first fire it up after you've built it.Even if you think you couldn't build one,I would still buy a core and have a machine shop build it.I had a 350 machined and rebuilt with a new mild street cam, parts+labor was $700.

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
it's been my experience that when you go for the cheapest DEAL around you usually end up with the cheapest CRAP around
THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY REMAINS LONG AFTER THE SWEETNESS OF LOW PRICE IS FORGOTTEN

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I`ve seen those great prices on Ebay and kept on movin`.Figure, put a picture of a pretty orange motor on the auction block and see who buys it.They won`t be from around here and if something goes wrong,oh well.Who would pull a motor, pay to truck it back, and hope the bozo that flubbed it the first time will get it right this time. And,by then the money you saved will be spent on aggrevation.
I`d use a local engine builder for a rebuild, spec the parts, and get what you want.Look at the range of prices on parts for a rebuild.Labor`s labor,it won`t vary that much. I`ve seen 350s painted and sold for $300 and no one ever heard it run(including the seller). If it was greasy as the day it was pulled,it couldn`t be given away. You can`t see machine work, the seller could tell you it`s a forged crank and you wouldn`t know.Go with someone you trust or go crate.

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I live in the Phoenix area and have never heard of them. I would beware of anybody selling high performance engines that cheap. I would not be able to trust it.

Re: anyone have experience with these guys
I am planning on building the 350 out of my truck and that is about the horsepower I am shooting for but what is weird is why does that engine make such little torque at that power rating? Most of the 350 crates that are making right at 400 HP are making around 450 lbs/ft of torque. Plus pricing parts to put mine together is going to cost me about that with me doing all the labor. Read the spec sheet at the bottom some of those names aren't super well know, I mean some of you guys that know engines may know them but the one that I saw was all their valvetrain is pioneer products, who are they??? I have never heard of pioneer, they may be a great company so if I am wrong someone PLEASE inform me I hate to be wrong.
