Longer front shackles?

I saw a company selling longer front shackles for an additional 1.5" of lift. Has anyone done this or is it even safe to do? And also had a shorter rear shacke for 2" of lift instead of flipping the shackle mount.

The shackle would have to be 3" longer in order to gain 1.5 inches of lift. Check out Off Road Unlimited (google them, I don't know the weblink off the top of my head) they offer zero rate add a leafs/blocks for small amounts of lift. I wouldn't suggest longer shackles as a primary means of lifting your ride.

I agree with see ten. I think the longer shackles are actually intended to help prevent arched springs from hitting the frame under exteme compression.

longer shackles on the back of the front springs will make put the front u joint at a bad angle. add a leafs are cheap makes for a bad ride new springs are the best way to go.

New springs are the best way to go if you can afford them. I used new springs front and rear when I did my K10. I have also used add a leafs, and yes they ride like dammit! The zero rate add a leaf is like a block, but it bolts together with the spring pack like an add a leaf. It's called zero rate because it doesn't affect the ride. I don't know how much lift they provide but I am pretty sure it is a small amount.

I've looked at the zero rates, and they gave you 1". They may come larger too.? Thinking of putting them on the front to lessen the rake.

add-a-leafs over 1" aren't supposed to be used for the front suspension.
only the rear.
