Bowtie Overdrives?

I am seriuosly considering their 700R package - their setup looks more complete and thought out than any others that I've seen.

Has anyone had any experience with these guys? Are they good to deal with?, Is their stuff any good?

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Bowtie Overdrives?

I've got the TV made EZ and TC complete relay style lock up kit. I'll let you know in a few weeks But I have heard good things about the kits. Are you talking about getting a whole tranny from them too?

Re: Bowtie Overdrives?

Yes, Transmission, crossmember, TV kit, Dip stick, Transcooler, and new stainless lines.
I also have asked them for any shifter info they can provide, but I haven't heard back on that.
I am sure I can re-create the linkage to allow me to get to 1st gear - I mean as much play as those linkages have - I'm sure I can get it to work, but I wanted to see if they had any information.

Please do let me know how your stuff works - where did you get your 700R?
I have bought the 700R Rapture from LA.
The most recent one I bought was TCI?? is that right - I installed in my 68 Firebird - came with the low-voltage kit, but I know the TV is wrong, so I am talking with Bowtie about getting it right.

Re: Bowtie Overdrives?

I bought their transmission several years ago and have since purchased the TV made easy kit and am a happy camper. The after the sale service has always been good too! I've got about 50K on it. I just used the crossmember from an automatic and moved it back. Also have used the stock automatic linkage. But bought a Krugel in hopes of aligning the pointer with the plastic indicator but haven't put that in yet!

Great company to deal with. They will provide you with all of the phone support that may be needed. I also purchased the Krugel Linkage, still on the shelf. I had issues with my headers and my likage with the 350 on 6 stands. I installed a floor shifter and column to match. With my Edelbrock carb and the TV made easy, a bracket made for the carb return spring helped.

Re: Bowtie Overdrives?

I just bought a Level III 700r4 package from them, trans, torque converter, TV stuff, crossmember, and install kit. It's on its way. Super helpful pre-sale, and they were also recommended by DTS the guys that did the custom rear end for project copperhead. Anyways - we'll see how it lives behind a Bill Mitchell/Hardcore 509. Should have both here over the next couple of weeks.
