Transfer Case Questions

I have a 72 K10 with a 205 transfer case. Got a couple of questions. I was advised to remove the bolts from the frame rail to the side of the transfer case. They said I could break the case if I didn't. What do you guys think? Other question: The rubber cushions on the t.c. side mount are worn out. Probably died of old age! Where do you find them? I don't seem to see them in the run of the mill resto catalogs. I don't mud bog or anything like that. I just drive my truck to work, pull my travel trailer and drive slowly in the woods during hunting season. No real high speed rough stuff. Thanks
