Finally found a truck to fix
Hello everyone, I finally found a good starter truck to hopefully try and restore. This is my third and best one so far, I have 2 71 1/2 tons 4x4 and one 70 1/2 ton 2wd. I will try and get some pics of it soon. Its a 71 4x4 w/a 350 4spd. Seems to be a pretty solid truck but haven't had much time to really get in it. Alot of little stuff wrong right now, wipers, heater stuff like that.
I have put the hei in it and is running good, but I have one questions hopefully someone could help me out on. When I make a left turn there is a grinding noise coming from the front end. Can someone point me in the right direction? I will be doing all the work on it myself so I am sure I will have some more questions soon. thanks rik |

is one of the tires rubbing the fender or frame? could be if it has larger tires or rims.

Re: Finally found a truck to fix
Hey Rik-
Id check what MSGross said, Ive had that happen before. Also have heard of odd wheels out there that scrape calipers, but that should do it all the time. Where at in SD are you? I'm near RC. Later---DAC

Re: Finally found a truck to fix
I checked the tires and brakes doesn't seem to be coming from there. sounds more like transfer case or something like that?
Here is a couple of pictures, its a little muddy here so I went out and checked the 4 wheel drive, seemed to work good. DAC- I am in Belle Fourche, almost neighbors.... |
