I just recently just put a different carrier in my re-end. Which I have no idea were it came from. The carrier had clutches in it, but once it was installed, I spun one of the rear tires and the other rear spun the opposite direction. I then dropped it off the jack stands and power breaked it and there were two black marks. What do I have? Any help would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly with the truck in gear there should be about 40 ft.lbs. resistance before the wheels will turn different directions.
With truck in nutural wheels should turn the same way.
Also the clutches may be worn in the posi..

Positraction = limited slip. Same thing, different name. Different than things like detroit locker, No Spin, etc...

Sounds like the clutches in your posi are on the worn side.

Ok I think I got it now. I put the truck in gear on jack stands and both wheels spin. I held one wheel and there was some force against it. I had my friend hit the gas and you cannot hold either wheel. I guess it just takes a few pony's before it kicks in. After that I took it in the parking lot and cut a few kitty’s and both wheels are definitely laying rubber to the ground.
