Disc Brake Conversion ???'s

I am planning on doing a power and disc brake conversion on my truck and have a few ?'s Such as, who has the best bang for the buck aftermarket kit for doing so. I know this may open up can of worms, but I sure could use some help and if we have any site vendors on here that offer these kits please sound off.

Thanks for all the help

Mike

If I remember right gmcpauls, site vendor, has the kits. Early classic enterprises also has them. I would pm or email gmcpauls first with any questions. Hope this helps.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion ???'s

I just did the GMC pauls 6 lug kit on my '69. It uses the stock '69 ball joints and tie rod ends, so it was easy and straight forward. Check your stock wheels to make sure they will fit over the brakes and you're good to go.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion ???'s

$619.95 with booster and choice of either stock or 2.5" drop spindles. I didn't need the booster, so the drop spindle discs were $470 + shipping.

I am very happy with the setup. I still need to replace a lower ball joint, so I'm only half done. It's easy enough to do and it looks great.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion ???'s

for what it is worth i put a rear disk brrake kit (5 lug) on my '72. i got the kit from cpp (classic performance products). i liked the kit & it seemed to fit really easy although it could have had a little better instructions. i am very happy & i think the price was right..

good luck!!

Re: Disc Brake Conversion ???'s

Mine didn't come with instructions (or at least I didn't find any). I just went off the steps in the shop manual because it's a basic process. The torque specs and stuff are there.
