Taught girlfriend to do burnout!
Took the g/f racing the other weekend, she loves it. Let her have a go too. She ran a 14.4 in drive. If it works I shall attach a pic of her doing burnout, that's me in background pointing to tell her she can go now.

Hey pumkin truck! How did you come up with that name. My wife calls my 68 the pumkin truck.

Jwill41, I didn't come up with "pumpkin truck," all my friends and family call it that because its orange. If you didn't notice, I accidently misspelled "pumpkin" in my name , I was just too lazy to re-register and correct my mistake, *shrugges shoulders*

Thats the same reason we call mine the pumkin. It was very oxidized when I bought it so it was very orange. I waxed it up and now it is not as orange but still orange. We spell it that way because thats the way we say it. Pum-kin.

Cool Picture! 68racer, what's the best you have run 1/8 & 1/4 mile? What is your 60' times with the Hoosiers? Have you made back to back runs with the tailgate up then down? If so how much of a difference did it make?

Thanks guys, the truck has a ZZ3, switch pitch TH400 and a 3.73 truck 12 bolt with posi. It has gone as quick as 13.18 @100 but only the once with a tailwind. That weekend of the pic I ran a 13.58 @97. The 1/8 mile times are 8.6 @80 mph. The 60' times are in the 1.9 range. I always run with the tailgate down, I figure the further back the weight the better the traction. There is a scaffold pole welded to the top edge of the tailgate, it's heavy.

Forgot to credit Anni at www.feel-the-noise.com for the excellent photo, cool site for drag racing on the right hand side of the atlantic. The ZZ3 has the HOT cam and 1.6 roller rockers, the truck has all glass panels, which doesn't make that much difference as the weight is in the chassis and cab. It's all about traction not just power. I went from 15's to 13's and hardly touched the engine just made it hook up.
