It's hard to believe, but . . .

. . . this is what my cab floor looked like when I removed the old carpet and pad to replace it. No, it has never been re-painted and as far as I know this is the first time the original carpet has ever been removed. A buddy of mine was helping put in the new carpet and he said, "man, it's kind of a shame to cover that up!"

You're very lucky. The windshield never leaked on this one or your floor pans would have looked like my son's. This must not be a Kansas or Nebraska truck.

You're right Old Dave. The truck's one-and-only PO lived on a ranch in Wyoming. Must have only drove it into town on Saturday nights because it only has 66,000 miles.

I saw the pictures you posted the other day when you were bringing it home from the paint shop. Nice truck! Off the subject, but how's the stubbleduck (pheasant) population this year? About 20 years ago I used to go hunting west of Lincoln around York, Neb. with several guys that worked at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln.

pheasant population is way down due to the severe drought we're in. We're rationing water in Lincoln and several small towns are having to drill deeper wells or haul water. Send rain!!

Mine is the same way, looks like it did the day it came out of the factory, even the paint is still shiny, EXCEPT my stupid kick panels below the vent rusted out, the floor is fine, its just the side that is rusted. I guess thats what happens when leaves get in the cowl. Hence the line in my signature :P

NO DEAN23, that is the FLINSTONE option, it is very common among 67-72 trucks the trick is to find one without that option like that beauty at the top.

mtdave2, yes it had the original tar mat. I took it out because it was very brittle and was basically falling to pieces. I replaced the old mat with a little "newer" technology to help with soundproofing and heat. The product I used in called RAAMmat. It's a product similar to Dynomat, but at about 1/2 the cost. I thought about going back in with the orginal style mat, but this is such a superior product and because it is completly hidden by the carpet, I deviated a little from my "keeping it stock" motto. (don't tell anybody)

Is that the original floor pan in your truck? It looks in great shape too.

I use FrontPage2000 to develop the web pages, but the page design is something I did myself. I have to admit I stole bits and pieces of other layouts I'd seen around the web. It's not the most efficient design, as it takes a lot of "hand tweaking", but I've gone too far to change it now.

Looked at your pics. Looks like you stumbled on a rare nice, low mileage truck like I did.

Finding one in alberta without the flintstonew option is pretty hard in my price range. Anyways onec my pans are done and rockers etc it will look like that and I'll have some satisfaction
