A shifter and a drive shaft should put you in business.

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
Are you sure it will be a direct bolt in? I got a junkyard 3spd for my truck years ago to replace the one I blew out, and it wouldn't fit, the input shaft was different. It was in a '72 C-10 truck. I found another one in a '68 and it bolted right in I think there was a saginaw and another type??? Long story short, the other tranny would have worked, but I would have had to have the belhousing with it as well. Just throwing that out there. I have no idea if it will bolt right in or not.

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
I'd say "go for it," for the price. I'd think the bell housing should bolt up with no problem, but I'd suggest a different clutch anyway. Why not, while you're in there. You can always fabricate a trans mount if you have to, and drive shaft work isn't that big of a deal.

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
oh im not worried about driveshaft issues but am worried about mounts, bellhousing etc. i dont have a welder or other metal wotking tools so it would be hard for me to create a mount for it.

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
That will bolt right in .....with a couple mods to the bellhousing. your center hole in the bell is 5 1/8" on your '70 truck, where the front bearing retainer is 4 11/16" on the car trans. You can either swap the bell for a 67 or older truck unit, or opt to replace the front bearing with a pc from a saginaw 3spd(truck trans), & then can use your bell. Another option would be to have a ring machined to press onto the existing bearing retainer. The other issue is minor, you will need to use a bolt & nut on the bottom 2 trans to bell holes,as the bottom 2 holes in the truck bells are not threaded. best of luck.... L

Hey, keep a close eye on that auction. Somebody else could easily come along and nail it in the last seconds of the auction. Chances are somebody's going to bid on it between now and the auction's end, 6 days from now.
That's the problem with eBay. It's not won until it's .. won.

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
oh i know shipping will be more. and yeah i am keeping an eye on the price. if i get outbid then whatever. i guess i will have to look for another one! and this will be a more friendy transmission to "bang" through gears and just cruise through town right? just wondering bc i will be taking the truck to the track every other test and tune just for fun and see what i can put out!

Re: Will this transmission work with my setup?
It'd be better than a stock granny gear or three speed.
