Chevy Van timing 6-250 Help!!
I have a 1970 van which has 2 different timing marks. 1 between the pulleys and one on the bottom of the oil pan. I cant read the one between the pulleys and when I hook the timing light up to the #1 cylinder it doesnt show the mark where its supposed to be??? What am I doing wrong guys??

yes , idle at 800 rpm .. I think to be able to see it I need to put the pick up on a different plug wire?

You should be on #1 plug, take a piece of chalk and scribe the line on the harmonic balancer to help you see it better
