Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
I'm getting rid of all the A/C and Heater stuff on the blazer. Other than cutting and welding a smooth firewall, does anybody make something to cover up those holes?
I know something along the line of what I'm looking for Vintage Air makes, but I think it's got that big square thing for the lines to come out.

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
How about someone that has done the mod with a Vintage Air or Old Air kit. I thought that they came with either a template or the actual plate in the kit. Could someone trace the plate or copy the template and mail one? I have written both companies asking to purchase the plate (in plastic I believe) so that I could fab stainless but neither will reply. I hope the lack of reply now does not indicate future response should I buy their product.

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
Something like so?
http://www.slickorange.com/Album/ima...gmc_image1.jpg http://www.slickorange.com/ac2/images/acip_image3.jpg Those two are before I knicked the end off...it looks a lot better after. http://www.slickorange.com/ac2/images/acip_image13.jpg http://www.slickorange.com/ac2/images/acip_image14.jpg I can't say that I could get you one. If you are dead serious though, and like it just like it is (in the first two pics) I can try. You can also make one yourself. All I did was make a template out of cardboard (several thin pieces) and then I had that cut out of steel. You could do the same, just transfer the template to steel, and speedy-cut or sawzall it out (I've done similar - just leave some room to clean up the edges). PM me though if you have any other questions. |

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
I called old air and they sent me the plates for the firewall. I believe it was about 20.00. I told them I was mocking up the cab and would get the rest of the system later. Talk to the tech people. They will deduct the plate when you buy the rest of the system.

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
Well, I'm not going to buy the rest of the system though. I'll call them and ask if they will sell the plates by themselves.
Hey Keith-I'll keep that in mind. I'd rather you come and see me though, instead of having to drag that bad boy down there. I'm too far away from that now to think that far in advance. This is my inspiration blazer-http://www.classictrucks.com/features/0508cl_1972_chevy_blazer/ NO Heater NO A/C NO TOP NO WINDOWS SHAVE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
Hey Bri, I bought some construction paper the other day to make a template for mine this week. I can mail you the template or something afterwards, but my dash looks exactly like the one in the eBay auction above (it is non-A/C truck according to the glove box)

Re: Who makes the A/C Firewall Hole cover up thingy?
DOH.
Is the outline different on an AC versus non AC cab? I mean, I know the holes are different shapes, but is the actual general outline of it diff't?
