Measuring bolt pattern on my wheels?

I was getting ready to order some new wheels for the truck when i thought i should double check the bolt pattern to make sure nothing has been modified or changed. How do you measure the bolt pattern? I thought you take center to center of the bolt but i was getting something like 3" and didn't make sence. Thanks Josh

Re: Measuring bolt pattern on my wheels?

How many lugs are we talking about? For a 5 lug you will measure from the edge of one lug, skip a lug and measure to the center of the next. Follow this link it explains it better then I can. http://www.mrt-wheels.com/boltpattern.html
