I am new here so please look over if this question has been asked before.

I tried to search adn I couldn't get anything to come up. I have a 69 C10 with a 350 and a floor mount three speed shifter. I was wanting to put headers on the truck but I don't know what modifications I will need to do. I was thinking of a set of the Dynomax Blackjack headers. i know these are probably cheap but I am looking for a set around $150 or less. If you all have any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

If you are talking about a 3-speed manual transmission, the Z-bar will be your main obstacle. Alot of the header listings will say " auto-trans only". Check it before you get TOO deep into the job. The #7 cylinder tube and z-bar will want to take up the same space (usually).I am talking from a Big-block perspective, so maybe the SBC guys can give you more insight on your situation. I just talked to a buddy of mine with a 67 and he has headers on his truck. He is running a set of Hooker Competitions. He had to cut the front support on the transmission for his to fit. Is this going to be the case for any header I buy. This seems like it would make the transmission a little weaker.. I really want to stay away from cutting a large piece like that. Any suggestions?

Headers have allways been a headach in the rear to me. I use the stock ram horns.
