LWB & SWB pics
I am kind of kicking around the idea of shortening my LWB 69 chevy 2 wheel drive to a SWB frame. Could I get some pics of both styles to help me decide

Re: LWB & SWB pics
My longbed started growing on me, and the short beds are starting to look funny to me...But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind again someday.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
The bigest problem for me would be getting a bed or bedsides. New besides you are lookin right around $1000 shipped, that is alot for a bed, but you never know.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
It's hard enough trying to find a shortbed in Co, I can't imagine how hard it is for you guys further north.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
I'm a fan of the longbeds. Sometimes I think I'm the only one.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
Here's a couple pics to help you decide. It's an easy decision for me. The black truck I did years ago. I used a short frame and bed to covert it, and plan on doing the same with the yellow truck.
Around here there are still enough short bed trucks to start out with, but I would rarher find a hard loaded BB Cheyenne Super and build a short one.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
Don't get me wrong I love longbeds also, Remember I am needing pics and what not to persuaded into building a shortbox I really like that black shortbox, that is another problem I am haveing, I can't decide what look I am going for. I am leaning more towards a stock look but slightly modifed.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
Here's my '68 LWB. I dislike the SWB, the short bed makes the frontend look HUGE!

Re: LWB & SWB pics
That's the exact color combo (the red/white top) that i want to do on the yellow truck, but I will put the original wheel covers w/white walls on it.

Lwb trucks are for work and better left on the ranch. My opinion.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
I was going to hack my bed when I first got my truck until I started hauling crap with it. I can fit 3 bikes in the bed with gear and still shut the gate.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
Well if I go short I will most likely put new wood in and that right there would end my trucks heavy hauling days.

Re: LWB & SWB pics
One thing I hate about the '71-2 short beds is the upper body chrome, and the way they slant the chrome on the bed side to flow with the upper body line. On a short bed, the angle is sharper, so it's really obvious that the chrome doesn't run straight, in line with the front chrome, but actually angles down.
On the long beds, there's less of an angle, so you don't really notice it.
