exhaust donuts

i keep blowing exhaust donuts where the header meets the crossover pipe. does anyone have any tips to solve this problem?

Put a steel sleeve inside the donut like the factories used to do. It's a short piece of tubing with a swaged-down end that slip-fits into the pipe, protecting the inside of the donut from the fire.

They also make steel donuts, but they tend to leak if things aren't lined up just right.

You can still buy the donuts with the sleeve inside. Napa and Autozone both stock them in many sizes.

Try the soft copper one. I did that to my Blazer and they are still in it.
