Need pics of clutch linkage

Hey everyone, I need some pictures of your clutch linkage. I have an 84 Silverado with a 4 speed and I just put a new engine in and clutch/flywheel. This hook up looks really silly. Doesnt look like it will hold up. I took this thing apart almost a year ago and now am confused. Also I push the pedal and the clutch is really soft, then hard, it feels really weird. I can push the pedal ALL the way to the floor and sometimes it will just stay right there. Anyone? Maybe anyone in the eastern MI area that can help?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Need pics of clutch linkage

If you're concerned about the z-bar setup (with good reason!) you can switch to a hydraulic clutch setup. Far easier to actuate, and with next to no moving parts, it doesn't get jammed up, or break.

Here is a link to pretty much the best kit you can buy transmission side:

And here is a link to a guy on CK5 who made his own setup. While I personally am not sure how long his angle iron bracket for the slave cylinder is gonna last, his method for mounting the master cylinder on the firewall is great:
