Anybody ever bent an axle?

I think I did. There is a LOT of new home construction going on around my hood. Some dumb a$$ was nice enough to run me off the road a couple of months back. And, he didn't even stop. AAARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!
It was at day break and I didn't get a plate because I couldn't chase him.
I blew out the front left tire, dented the rem, pulled the steering box away from the frame, and apparently bent my rear axle.

I just got another rim for the back but the wheel still wobbles.
I hit a curb dead on going about 50MPH. I'm assuming that was enough speed to do it?

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

Im not sure about your axle but I saw some teenybopper on a cellphone run some poor guy into a curb (blew his tire and lost the hubcap) and I followed her long enough to get her plate and call the sheriffs office! I hope you get your truck fixed.

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

O.K.
I just re-read what I originally wrote. I failed to state that with the heavy construction there are a lot of DUMP TRUCKS around. One of them ran me off the road.......

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

Look on the bright side, the axle will be easy to locate, and dirt cheap. I'm sure one of these guys here will give you a 60 - early 70 6 lug axle for 10 bucks or less... plus shipping... of course, you should be able to locate one easy down there, old trucks practicly grow on trees in Tx.

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

Yup, plant a tire and it'll grow a truck tree.

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

The truck part was indeed like heaven.. but I didn't care for much else about the state though. But that's just me.

Especially central Texas. Lot's to do and lot's of trucks.
Actually, there are more trucks in Texas than any where else on the planet.
And, tons of good lookin' women. Ask anyone.

Re: Anybody ever bent an axle?

It wasn't???

I have been in technical sales for a while and dealt with the michigan auto plants. One of my customers up there said that Texas had the largest population of trucks. Don't have proof. However, it's a big ass state and there are lots of truck drivin' rednecks

And I'm still stickin' by my attractive women comment!
