Found a 67 swb for cheap

I haven't went and looked at it in person but I'm mostly wanting the bed, my buddy may be able to use some of the other 67 parts on his rebuild. Anyway, guy said I could have it for $500. The wood is gone (to be expected) as well as the tail gate. I can see there are some dents dings and a few creases but can't but over seems to be decent. I asked about rust, he replied about as rust free as you'll find in Florida. That tells me to expect some. The 'ol guy that owns it is super nice to talk to and has hooked me up with a guy to buy some rust free (hopefully) '72 doors from. whatchas think?

Check out the cab corner repair on the ps side... lol

For 5-hun it would be mine. You possible could make a couple of dollars off of the parts you don't need.

If I knew that you were looking for a bed I just saw a 72 Step go for $50 (yep, fifty bucks) near my house on Ebay.

You better jump all over that truck. The front clip looks good and the rear fenders are repairable.

A little paint on that cab corner and you'll never tell it was patched. Buy it!

Re: Found a 67 swb for cheap

Well, the ol boy called me back. He said here's the deal - He had also listed the truck in the local paper forsale for a grand. He said he wasn't trying to get more money out of me but if someone shows up with money in hand then he it'd be a done deal. I guess I can't blame here there, I asked about sending him a mo to hold it - he said it's really more about getting it off his property then anything and that's why he offered it at half what he would really like for it. Gonna try to shoot over tuesday afternoon and grab it.

Re: Found a 67 swb for cheap

Just got back from my 437 mile round trip to pick the truck up. I was pissed, it's nothing like the photos. There wasn't two square inches of salvagable metal on that truck. Wish I had taken my camera. Looks good from the photos that he provided BUT damn! Guess that's why his camera misterously went kahoots when I ask him for inner fender, interior, and inside bed shots. To make matters worse he had put me touch with a friend of his (30 mins further up the road) that said he had a good driver side 72 door and header panel. I get there and the guy had like at least twelve 67-72 chevy trucks in his field that had been sitting there for 12-15 years just rotting - I was disgusted. His 'perfect' 72 door ended up being a rusted out 71 down door. The header panel ended up being a rusted out panel for a wood bed even after specifying several times I had a steel bed.
