Water Pump

Did water pumps differ in 71-72. I pulled out a complete factory a/c system out of a 71 Chevy Truck with 350 engine to put it in my 72 Blazer. But the problem is that the water pump that i put wont line up with the a/c bracket or anything. I guess because the water pump is aftermarket and it looks bigger than the original. All im saying is, if 71 system differs from 72 system on chevy truck's 350, Factory air, and water pumps.

Re: Water Pump

sounds like you need a short water pump which should be stock for 71 or 72. can you fit your hand between the timing cover and the water pump or close to it?? if so its a long pump

Re: Water Pump

Thanks to all of you for the info. Now i see that i have a long water pump and need a short one. No wonder it wont line up with all the a/c and alternator brackets.
