Several weeks ago there was a thread about a product that was designed to fix a leaky house roof that guys are using inside of their doors that acts as a sound barrier/deadener.

Anyone remember? And if you could, please forward the name of the product and where they bought it. Thanks.

Here is a website that discusses some of the sound deadeners. I wouldn't use the home products they are cheap but they aren't designed to work in automotive applications.

The smell of that roofing stuff will give you a headache for quite some time before it stops stinkin'.

Yeah and the roofing stuff is very bad at sticking to a verticle surface if it gets a little hot. I would say spend the extra money and get one of the better products.

But I also agree, the stuff designed to be used in vehicles will result in fewer problems down the road.

I have bare floors right now.

I'm going to use B-Quiet in my truck. I am not doing any deadening for now - I might lay a piece or two on some long flat panels, but overall, I don't want to stick anything to my body until I get it properly cleaned and prepped. My biggest fear is ending up with rust under something i sound deadened.

Doesn't the "chemical smell" stuff released from the roofing repair patches cause cancer?

I'd save my brain cells and spend a few more bucks on stuff made for vehicles.

Im using lizard skin on mine...first a coat of rust preventitive coating or paint of some sort on all the bare metal. Then on the floor, firewall and roof, lizard skin heat resistor. Over that and on the rest of the insides lizard skin noise proof. Without all this, my panel being black, it would be hot as an oven and noisy as a tin can. I went to the upholstery guy today and got my interior quotes including full headliner and carpet. When its done (if I havent passed away from old age yet) it should be nice and quiet and climat controled.
