Smile Its finally done

Well,
The green machine is finally done and road worthy, I put it in my first show last weekend and placed 2cnd. Thanks Bill Athey for shipping me all the parts needed all over the states quickly to complete this along with Wes. It was a joy to recreate this truck, I think my dad (deceased) would have loved it. Now its time to regear the rear end again. Then its on to finding a Burb to do, I want to paint the next one...Anyone have collectors insurance? Would like to here your opinions...

Nice truck. My wife is an insurance agent. And she sells Hagerty insurance, so when mine is ready for insurance, This is what will have on mine. To bad you don't live in Tn. I could have set you up for insurance purposes.

Re: Its finally done

All in all it took little less than 2 years to finish, but I replaced darn near everything except the sheet metal, doors from a 72.

I love that 3 on the tree!! That is one sweet looking truck. Just can't imagine what it feels like to take that first spin around the block. Great job there!! That has inspired me to get rolling again on my truck.

Re: Its finally done

Smitty, A couple of questions:
What size tires are you running?
Is that a Custom Autosound stereo? How do you like it?
What speaker system did you go with?
Do you have the CD changer? If so, where did you mount it?

Thanks, Bob

Re: Its finally done

congrats on a great lookin' truck... however, is it my pc settings or do the steering wheel and seat not match the rest of the truck...??? They look olive and the truck color appears to be more turquoise.... seems like an odd combo, but if that's what you were going for, more power to ya...

Re: Its finally done

Botie,
The wheels are 275/60/15's, It is a custom sound stereo, the knobs are kinda on the cheap side but it works fine, I made a custom piece to mount my pioneer changer with a kenwood amp and bolted it where the tank went, I can send you some pics if you like, also have custom speakers, also the stereo and the dash speaker do not like each other, mounting them was a pain, I may have to remove the front speaker to get the stereo to mount up straight.

BigVin,
The bright Arizona sun and my camera dont like each other plus clear coat, the truck is medium green its alot better shoot pictures of at nite, the seat and the dash pad with the sun visors I would say are made from the same company cause they match pretty good, the wheel is off just a touch, but thats all thats out there now and I wanted to keep it as stock as possible with just a few upgrades, but the interior color was what came with the truck.

72
Its not lifted, the springs are new and it was always about that high since i had it, the rear wheels dont really squeeze into the wells, but I wasnt going to attempt to put 20's on it, not my thing....

84
I had 2 cameras worth of pics before the trip to wally world, after I got there I had 0 cameras worth of pics, must of been the new guys day to start, I have a few not many, but it would have been cool to put a book together for the restoration.
